Although cloudy, it was a decent morning, and I headed back to Governor Bridge. There was very little activity when I arrived, but I found pockets of birds here and there-no groups of migrants, however.
Bug hunting was better than in recent days.

Magnolia Warbler at Sands Road Park
I decided to take a chance on Sands Road this morning, and it didn’t work well. It’s somewhat difficult going, but the habitat is excellent, and birds should be present. I found only a few, then went to Wooton, where the situation was similar.
I did find a couple of bugs, but it was a very slow day.
Black Throated Green Warbler at Governor Bridge Natural Area
We finally got a decent run of migrants. I got 5 warblers today, which is a lot for me. A very pleasant morning indeed.
I didn’t leave much time for bugs, and I haven’t finished processing the photos yet.
Black and White Warbler at Governor Bridge Natural Area
Another beautiful day, but the birds weren’t as numerous. I did quite a bit of trekking, but never found a good concentration of migrants. Tomorrow may be different.
I only spent a short time bug hunting, but found a nice spider.
Cape May Warbler at Governor Bridge Natural Area
I managed to get out for a short time yesterday, but the weather was so foul I cut the morning short. Today was entirely different. I saw several good birds, ‘though not many were posing well.
Bugs are getting a little harder to find.
Black Throated Blue Warbler at Governor Bridge Natural Area
It was a beautiful morning, similar to yesterday. The North winds produces a lot of migrating birds, far more than I could photograph. I pretty much stayed in one place for an hour, then searched the adjoining area for more birds.
Bug hunting was productive again, as well.
Baltimore Oriole at Governor Bridge Natural Area
A thoroughly nice morning for a change. It was a bit cloudy early, but it cleared up adequately and I was ale to get a few good images. There was plenty of activity. I missed the best warblers, but got enough pictures to be content.
Bugs were plentiful, and a snake and a couple of frogs made for a nice morning.
Goldfinch at Governor Bridge Natural Area
It was cloudy again, with the promise of clearing skies, and that’s what we got.
There was reasonable activity today, but still no large number of migrants. I had to do some searching to find the birds I did see.
I spent some time examining a goldenrod field, which is a good source for bugs. A Tree Frog showed, as well.
No Birds at Governor Bridge Natural Area
The skies were less gloomy than yesterday, and the North winds had me anticipating a good morning. I was very surprised that two hours of looking produced not a single bird worth photographing.
Bug hunting was much more productive.

American Redstart at Governor Bridge Natural Area
A gloomy morning with rain threatening, but we had a NE wind last night, which might help the migrating birds heading South.
I arrived near dawn, as usual, and there was quite a lot of activity after an hour or so. It was mostly Robins and Catbirds, with a few other mixed in, and I was able to find a few warblers. I had to use the flash, so no really great images.
Bug hunting was curtailed by a light rain.
