I debated going out at all, until it became apparent there would be at least a little sunlight and warmish. I headed straight to Thomas Point, not expecting much, and I was pleasantly surprised.
The Loon image isn’t very good, but it’s the first of the year, so I’ll take it.

I really like the Common Loon, so it was nice to finally see one.



This Downy Woodpecker landed in a tree right over my head.

These female Scaups were foraging near shore.

Bufflehead are still very active.


I’ve never seen a Surf Scoter so close to shore.



Common Goldeneye are still regular visitors.


Buffleheads outnumber Scaup at the moment.
