New Sparrows and a Palm Warbler.

Real Spring weather!
I mentally dithered about where to go until I got in the truck and it went to Patuxent NWR (South). A wise choice and a good variety of birds graced my lens, including a new sparrow and a Palm Warbler, first of the year for me.
I stopped briefly at Greenbury Point on the way home., then visited Truxtun Park in the afternoon. A very good day.

This Ring Necked Duck seemed to be alone.

  1. Your photos of the tree swallow are nothing short of spectacular Hugh. Gorgeous !
BTW, I think it’s awesome that whenever I google images for birds, your photos are the first ones that come up. Who ever did you bribe?

    • Thanks, Emily. I suspect the Google results have more to do with Google’s algorithm than my photos. Your cookies and IP address probably influence the results

  2. I agree with Emily, the tree swallows are very lovely. You caught their color very well in the spring sunshine.

  3. Hugh, Hi. Just got to tell you I have been laid up with a bad back (probably having surgery soon I hope). Your photos have just gotten better and better, amazing!!! I wish I was able to be out there with you (especially jealous of the wood ducks). But your photos are the best medicine for me – just brighten up my day.
    Thanks,
    Diane Benyus
