Tundra Swans at Thomas Point.

We’re getting some interesting winter visitors now. Swans and Geese are flying high overhead, and looking through flocks of distant ducks is more rewarding.  A single Ruddy was hanging out with 50 Buffleheads at the point.

Redheads, Wigeons and Canvasbacks are appearing now, so it won’t be long before we see other species.

  1. They are always so beautiful. I look forward to seeing them in the winter. Does that thing on Julia’s neck hurt her or make her uncomfortable ? By the way I have your hat from back in August. Micki

  2. Thanks for the Thomas Point update. Went over this afternoon and saw 500 surf scoters and 50 black scoters! Plus about 20 ruddies. Things are hoppin’!
