Forster’s Tern at Possum Point

It was another spectacular weather day, with good light and temps in the 70s.  Quiet Waters and Thomas Point are closed on Tuesdays, so I went to Possum Point and stuck around for about three hours.

The eagles are still there, but not getting any closer. Ruddys and Cormorants by the bucketful, and I found a few birds behind the Nature Center, but nothing spectacular.

Double Crested Cormorant 127

There are dozens of Double Crested Cormorants early in the morning.

Goldfinch 228

Goldfinches are all year residents.

Yellow Rumped Warbler 218

There were a few Yellow Rumped Warblers behind the Nature Center.

Blue Jay 214

This Blue Jay flew overhead, close enough for a decent shot.

Great Blue Heron 349

Two Great Blue Herons were cruising the area.

I think this is a Forster’s Tern, and he seemed to be by himself.
