Tennessee Warbler at Governor Natural Area

Good weather and good birds!
I met Graeme at Governor Bridge very early with the intention of trying out some bug photography, but first we looked for birds, and did very well. Migration seems to be well under way, and we saw our fair share this morning. Afterward, we roamed the woods, and Graeme showed me some tricks for getting sharp images of small critters.

I caught this distant Baltimore Oriole just as he took off.

  1. All the photos are great. I didn’t see nearly as many birds or bugs when I was there last week….but I didn’t know where the Magic Tree was then…I am definitely going back to find more warblers. And I’m going to look for more bugs and caterpillars. Your bug and caterpillar photos are beyond good….I know the Maryland BIodiversity Program folks are going to be very appreciative. JC
