Yesterday there was a report of a Kittiwake at Sandy Point, so I decided to take a look. These things don’t usually work out for me, but the bird was right where he was supposed to be, close and in decent light. This bird is pelagic, and really shouldn’t be here. There were few other birds at Sandy point, so I made a brief stop at Jonas Green n the way back and found a few ducks and other birds.
This Dark Eyed Junco is for my sister.
Jonas Green is a popular place for Gadwalls.
Hooded Mergansers are also regulars.
It wasn't hard to guess where the Kittiwake was being observed.
“Cornell:”A small, cliff-nesting gull, the Black-legged Kittiwake breeds along northern coasts and winters out at sea.”
